You can, but obviously your truck will have that “industrial look”, probably be a little less than a db louder, but yeah you could easily pull the whole cover and be done with it. I just got some dynamat to make up for the stuff I pulled / cut, sounds the same to me but I feel better about it. just got it in. It may be a while though. I’m short materials to complete the stereo work ( yeah, i know ... I said complete and of course that is total BS, I know I’ll end up modding again, just not sure when ) - anyway I’m still on the stock sony amp/stereo. plan is to add amps / dsr1 and tune. I can tell that the 300w x10” sub is quite enough for the pedestrian 25w of the stock sony unit. So I’ll need to do this in stages going forward. Nope, it’s not going anywhere. The sub sits under a lip one the back wall and the seats hold it in nicely. for now, velcro. I wanted to mock it up to ensure it would be ok on that back wall with insulation still in place since it’s not ‘formed’ for the box in that location, and fortunately it worked. I just moved it straight up. Good news is that you can easily hard mount it by partially disassembling the mount and using the remaining mount for the module to screw to the back wall.
