At the end of Sept, beginning of Oct I'll be looking into getting a new(er) truck. I currently drive a 2000 GMC Sierra ext cab Z71 stepside with 160k miles and other then the regular maintenance items and an oil pump, it has been a sold truck and still runs great. It's only real issue is it has piston slap in the winter, but not in the summer. It could use a few things done to it to get another 3-4 years out of it, but I've had it for almost 14 years. After what happened to my wifes Equinox Sport, GM left a bad taste in my mouth and we traded her Nox in for a 2014 Escape and I love it. Been looking at a Raptor for a few years now and after having some marriage issues (all is good now), my wife has come to be open with a monthly payment that equals our mortgage. My question is, I really want the F-150 Raptor, but I don't want a crap ton of miles on one as I plan to keep/drive it for ~10 years or so. I want at least the 2013 or newer models. Sounds stupid, but I love the Sony SYNC system in the wifes Escape, but being an Audio guy, everything else but the radio will be replaced. I'll tap in after the factory amp for my signal, but this is a topic for a different thread. After reading the post on a guy looking for high mileage Raptors, I feel a bit better accepting one with slightly more miles then I was looking at. 50k now up to 75k Price is at a max of $45k, as I plan to finance only $40k and with my trucks trade in and what I save for a DP, I hope to have over $5k. What my big question is though, should I look into a Ranger Raptor? I have no idea on what the MSRP is projected to be at, but at $50-55k, being new, my bank will give me the lowest interest rate at the longest payment plan possibly making it affordable. I like the idea of 10 miles when I get it and the worry free of a warranty. Does anyone know what the MSRP is projected to be? I prefer the fullsize as I'm a bigger guy and prefer the room plus like I said, I'm an audio guy, so an aftermarket custom stereo will be going in and the more room I have the better. As well as the power.....I test drove a 2014 Raptor and fell in love instantly. But will the Ranger have the same wow factor at 390 Hp. It's only 60 less then the F-150 and roughly 1000 lbs lighter so......If it shares the same engine then a simple computer programming could give it that last 60 Hp? Your thoughts please. Thanks Mike
