The Ford system DSP is very limited …it’s either on or off (stereo) to be fair my 2018 range meridian system looked impressive on paper specs but was simply good—it didn’t have a large warm sound stage….the autobiography system was much better. To get a well balanced system…unfortunately an aftermarket system is the only route (IMO). Is spending another 10-15k on an off road truck a good investment? That’s a personal choice. I have learned the hard way that when you insert an aftermarket system into today’s vehicles …you roll the dice. Even the best installers can create future electronic problems that can be “denied” as a covered warranty. The supercharged V8 is soft at first …very lazy initial throttle response …great for off-road but annoying in street driving. I installed pedalbox and immediately enjoyed the driving experience. It is much more responsive and retains the ability to soften throttle response when needed…trips to Lake Tahoe (snow). IMO the twin scroll v8 turbo on out bmw x7 is more more responsive than the supercharged v8 Land Rover …it shouldn’t be but technology and major auto manufacturers have figured out the recipe for little or no perceptible turbo lag. We have been driving a few electric vehicles lately (own a taycan turbo, neighbor has a tesla plaid, and hybrids or pure electric vehicles are much more responsive. The immediate torque cannot be matched by Internal Combustion…but electrics are boring…I rarely drive our taycan. Great vehicle but I never pick it first for spirited drives…I agree with you the 3.5 HO (stock) never feels fast …it’s very businesslike in its power delivery …good numbers but it doesn’t raise your pulse much. My rubicon 392 is a joy to drive …not a 500 mile road trip car but it doesn’t ever disappoint you…get a pedalbox for the range and you will love it …SVR range rovers are special…fun to drive and sound amazing. Hope this helps. Enjoy !!
