Yes, it is easy enough to improve on an already great truck but you are correct that changing the geometry of the suspension (that Ford spent millions on) by jacking the truck up is not the best idea in most situations and unless you are willing to spend a lot of money. For this I would agree to your idea of buying a regular F-150, actually, a F250 would be better for the stronger axles for 35" tires and above. Which year Raptor is best depends on the plans you have for the truck. As for the Recaro seats they are nicer than the standard ones but for the amount charged you could find something with more support but would lack the integrated air conditioned seat. Finally, the trail control for an experienced off-roader is not needed, can be counter productive in certain situations and adds unnecessary complexity & cost. If the driver is a novice trail control would be useful. Full disclosure: I have the Recaro seats. Over time if you plan on keeping the truck the more electronic stuff that Ford puts on the truck the more I would assume it will fail over time. One absolute good statement you can say about the 19's is they have the steel oil pan vs. the plastic one on earlier years but some late model 18's may have the steel pan as well. I understand when you say "worth it" and that is your opinion but a better answer would be "it depends."</p></blockquote><p></p>
[QUOTE="Swamp Fox, post: 1375972, member: 27704"] Valid points and if you value the new "upgraded" things then by all means buy the 19.
