And then there are the scams pulled by dealers that repaint and repair trade-ins with
clean CarFax reports. Then, the selling dealers body work doesn't show up on the CarFax
until after YOU buy it.
I feel the same way. I have a supercab also for the same reasons and it looks stockier. The price on the Gladiator in the linked article will be around 60K not 40-50K. So, it is a no brainer....get a Raptor.
I am a fan of blue. However, if I had the choice I would rate Lightning Blue as #1 and Velocity Blue #2 and Performance Blue as my third choice of blues. They are all great in their own ways though. Can't go wrong with blue it's my favorite Raptor color!
The only upside for me was they lasted a long time. Got 75K miles out of a set on a RCLB F150 4x4. They were loud for as long as I can remember which made me long for some replacements. Never remember them being quiet. It is a hard tire ("E" load rating) and made the truck ride like a wagon...
I have listened to just about every Gen2 Raptor exhaust combination available. Hours of
recordings. Wanting to like it. But, they all sound like a V6....only more so. I would
absolutely hate driving around in the 1-2K RPM range constantly hearing that purring V6
(as opposed to a...
Well after reviewing all the feedback I returned the vehicle to Vroom before the 7day 250 mile limit. I decided to go out of state and get a new 2019 at 5K off sticker in Missouri. I am still out $950.00 and the time I put into it to detail it.
Live and learn.
I found some part numbers for the leather consoles:
GL3Z-1506024-AB black rubber/vinyl
GL3Z-1506024-BB leather with silver stitching
GL3Z-1506024-DA leather with red stitching
The part #GL3Z-1506024-BB is the Lariat leather covered console lid with silver
stitching. I got one new for $160.00...
I have a 68 Camaro as my other vehicle in my garage. Its a 416 stroker fuel injected LS3. I am an avid user of HP Tuners :-) love tuning on it. Has a Tremec 6 speed and 4 link Ford 9" rear end.
It would be costly if you could find them. 6K at least for the front seats new. However, if you could wait a couple of years a used set may turn up on FleaBay for half that. No way I'd buy the Recaro's new from Ford. Be crazy pricey. You would be better off trading the whole truck for one...
I used Meguiars
rubbing compound to get all the oversparay off my truck. That stuff really works well. It was slow but didn't leave any swirls. Then I polished it with Carnuba wax.
Anyone know the part number for a leather covered console lid that matches the Raptor black interior with gray stitching? I see covers on Ebay but, leery of anything Ebay or Amazon. I know there was a guy on here that did recover these i lids but, he seems to be out of business.
The Gen2 Raptor is the first truck I have ever owned that did not have a V8. I am not a loud exhaust kind of guy and the only truck I every changed the exhaust on was a 1997 F150 RCSB 4x4. I put a pair of Walker Dynomax Super Turbos under it and made it a true dual exhaust with lightning style...
I was very tempted to drive up to Missouri and get one but was afraid that they were just blowing smoke and would not budge off sticker when I arrived. Car sales is such a shady business.
The color is my favorite Raptor color (Lightning Blue). It has power folding mirrors too which is a plus for getting in and out of the garage. The shorty antenna on the roof just clears the header of the garage door too. The options on the truck are exactly what I was looking for down to the...
The in dash MPG gauge in mine is saying 18 avg mix of city and highway. I bought mine used with 26K miles on it though. So, I am sure its pretty loosened up now.
Vroom had it repainted somewhere but the paint job was hastily done with overspray and orange peel galore. I color sanded it to perfection myself. The work Vroom had done is withheld from CarFax. Then after you take delivery a few weeks later that body work shows up on CarFax.
Yeah I am glad I was able to get it fixed to where it looks like new now. It was a judgement call I had to make if I could fix it or now and if there was more undisclosed damage. It is such a fun vehicle and I have wanted one since they came out in 2010. It is so unfortunate that such a good...
The 2019 and 2020 won't fit in the garage with the shark fin on the roof. My 2018 just clears by a hair. I didn't even think about that when I was looking at new ones.
