I've been working down in Youngstown, OH lately and been going back and forth quite a bit. There's a lot of construction on I-80 as well. No closures but it'll definitely slow us down. All construction zones are 50 mph and the cops are watching those areas closely.
I'll most likely join you...
I'm noticing the same thing after putting on 37's. I have the electric rack on mine so different from the the Raptor but washboard sections in the road seem to excessively boss my steering system around. Would upgraded tie rods help with this?
Downpipes deepened the exhaust on my truck considerably. Different tunes also change the exhaust note. Way more authority with my most strung out 93 tune compared to my 87 tow tune.
It's a unique sound that takes some getting used to. The torque curve and turbo sounds makes you care less about...
The header itself and building quality is very good with ARH. I prefer Kook's but I know plenty with Stainless works and American Racing, all happy customers with the exception of the cats that ARH uses. Most usually fail quickly and you end up having somebody weld in a chunk of straight pipe to...
Understood. I remeasured last night. I don't have the numbers in front of me but they were much closer to 50/50. More like 55/45. I'm right at 26.5 on both sides from hub to fender lip and I think I'm going to leave it alone.
Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated.
The springs are WSI SD's which are +2 equivalents. They are freshly installed so I suspect they'll settle a bit.
Yes 37's with stock fenders.
No I did not. Good point. I'll remeasure tonight.
For the time being, I adjusted the front to 26.5" hub to fender lip, which is about 1/2"...
Yes that's my understanding. If 8" of the shaft is exposed at full droop, set your preload so that 4" is showing without the truck jacked up. So at sitting ride height, the shock will be resting at exactly the half way mark of travel.

I'm following you with that at a higher ride height puts you further out of the sweet spot in the center bypass zone. I get that.
Just so I have it straight, spring preload doesn't change compression or droop travel, that is limited by the shock itself. CV axle strength is proportional to...
Yes it's been fully converted. The 6.5 ft bed is great from a practical standpoint but I'll see it goes from an offroading standpoint.
Thanks guys. I'll shoot for 26.5" as that seems to be the general consensus.
Just thinking out loud... How does overly increasing spring preload on a...
I'm in the midst of setting my front ride height and need to know how much I can raise the front without causing major issues. I have a torsen front diff, Fox 3.0's on all 4 corners and WSI SD springs in the back. The front is currently set at about 26 1/4" from hub to fender flare (shown in...
I rent trucks through Enterprise for work and can tell you, they don't keep up with the maintenence. I've had 3 F150s over the past year. When I got the first, it had 7500 miles on the oil and I drove it for about 4000 more miles. About the same scenario with the 2nd. The 2016 I'm driving now...
