It's badically what it is... a dipstick & filler tube to check trans oil, and add more if ever needed. The trans for these trucks never came with them, and to check the trans oil you need to crawl under truck to deal with a hot exhaust and fumble with a plug located in the stock pan.
This...
Cool... it's a really nice piece right, and very well crafted.
While you're at it consider adding a dipstick/filler tube so you can monitor and add fluid fight from under the hood.
PerformanceAutomatic.com has them, I believe it's Part #:PA68404, but double check with them before purchasing.
I have a Whipple SC, and had already installed a bigger CBR alum radiator to keep engine temps cooler, plus a larger aFe alum trans pan, so also ended up with the RPG larger trans oil cooler as well... best option for a plug and play upgrade to get a bit better trans cooling when giving truck a...
I realize this thread ended a year ago, and it's more related to a budget simple replacement of stock cooler with larger oem style but has anyone considered or installed the RPG trans cooler?
Transmission Cooler Kit - RPG Offroad
It's naturally more expensive but looks nicely made and of good...
Hey Spyders... so the Helix DSP basically has an amp built into it?
I agree, a separate amp, if it's affordable is preferred and new speakers a simply and cheap upgrade especially over the $8-10 oem factory junk Ford/Sony gives us!
I wanted to add... can you just install a DSP with no other upgrades to change the sound of the oem speakers?
Or what if you included some decent sounding speakers as well with a DSP?
I'm simply trying to get some perspective from a cost prohibitive factor, given not everyone may have the...
Thanks for response... awesome info!
What would be the biggest component woofer you can fit into the 5x7 opening in the front door... 5"?
Subwoofer advise makes sense, would be foolish to drop a bunch cash on new system and stick yourself with a cheap sounding flimsy plastic oem box to...
Hey Noah...
I have a '14 Crew w/the Nav & Sony system, now planning to upgrade my audio as well, so very happy to find this thread with all your advise and expertise!
The sound is actually quite horrible, and worse than assumed given the cost of the lux package. Yet you can't expect much from...
Cool, and have a feeling you're one of the few who drive your truck right to the edge of what it was meant to do!
Yeah, I assumed Prothane would have made aftermarket engine & trans mounts for the Raptor, and surprised they don't?
Hey Dan,
So how's she holding up?
I assume SDHQ's fabrications were due to lack of any aftermarket performance mounts other than the stock OEM versions?
Hey guys... have a question specifically addressing all the heavily modified Raptor owners but also everyone who actually drives their truck extremely hard as well.
Is there anyone here who's developed issues with drivetrain vibration/stability or a failure at some point due to stock engine...
