I just replaced every component in the front end of my truck with OEM ford parts. Uppers, lowers, shocks, top hats, the list goes on. After looking at all the old parts, I think the “front end clunk” can be caused by many different issues. Here is a list of what I think can be the culprits...
I don't think you can get that part any more. I just took mine out and put a bunch of silicone in the bushing so doesn't flop around anymore. I think the stock bolts have lock tight, so you may need to lift the bed a bit to get a real ratchet in there. Loosen the passenger bed bolts, remove...
I've removed the shake weight vibration damper a couple of times before. If I remember correctly, a 15mm ratcheting and articulating wrench will let you pull the damper bolts without loosening the bed. Hopefully this would give me clearance to pull the bolt over the frame...
You may have already found this out, but just because you have "new" lower shock bushings, does not mean they are still good. I had some OEM bushing laying around in the garage for a year and finally decided to install them instead of the hemispherical bushings I had in the truck already...
I recently installed new shocks and Deaver springs on my truck. This was my first time installing real leaf springs, and tried to follow the directions as best I could, but the job was pretty straight forward. On my first test drive I could immediately hear a clunk and popping noise from the...
Came across this thing today. Plug and play headlight, turn signal, tail light flasher module that plugs into the OBD. Anyone use these before?

Has anyone mounted squadrons on either side of the license plate? If so, what bracket did you use? Ive seen it done, but I'm not sure if the bracket for a 20" bar will work.
Interesting. I actually liked the off road feel of stock springs on mid perch, but the day to day driving was horrid. Lots of shoddy patch and seal in Houston, I would prefer dirt roads.
After some more thought, research and beer, I think I have this progressive spring thing figured out and can answer some of my own questions.
How are Geiser springs stiffer?
When at ride height and under the weight of the truck, Geiser springs will be into a “stiff zone” equal to the weight of...
I have zero experience with deavers or Geiser springs. But here is my .02 on what I think will happen to on road ride quality.
If I remember physics class correctly, all springs are progressive in a way. If a spring takes 1 lb to move one inch, it takes a greater force to move the spring the...
My major issue with 3.0's is:
Service intervals
Check valve noise (I know it minor, but it bothers me)
Price. I can foot the bill, but I have a feeling they will be too stiff around town, it will drive me nuts, and I'll regret not trying a more cost effective route first...
Please do. Tired of reading “just do it”.
Interested to see if the flutter stack compliments the progressive springs. A flutter stack tries to accomplish the same thing but with valving.
I've been searching for an in depth review of the Geiser Progressive Springs. Unfortunately the only reviews I have found are pretty basic. Can someone lead me to a good review of these springs, or type up a quick summary?
I'm thinking the Geiser Springs and Deavers are a decent way to...
I recently had my shocks rebuilt and have been having Major issues aligning my truck. I’ve finally got it close, but the truck still pulls right. I had an epiphany just now. Could a front shock be installed backwards? Sure as shit I looked and only one SVT emblem is facing forward, and the...
Interesting. I’d think the 10 speed trans would have higher tollerences given the fact that it shifts more often, thus would cause more wear in theory. That is if the clunk in the 10 speed is being caused by play in the gear mesh.
Just got my truck back from the dealer after I brought it to them for drive line play. I noticed play in 1st and 2nd gear when driving in traffic. They replaced a shift solenoid said it was fixed. Crawled under the truck this afternoon and it looks like the issue is in the transfer case...
