I am in the exact same boat, but with my 2014 Gen 1. Shocks are wearing, truck is near paid off (bought in 2017), and at nearly 80k miles. Have a dealer willing to do MSRP on a 37 edition...but who knows when it would show up
thats the concern I have. You get a decent trade value now, but...
My GT350 has an exhaust rattle with its active exhaust if the temperature is below 50 degrees. Goes away if I open the valves or the exhaust heats up.
My wife's ecoboost explorer also have a slight rattle upon startup. Goes away pretty quickly.

Most of the automatic ones around me will not fit it. Furthermore, with the high pressure water, i'm concerned if it will damage the matte vinyl on the truck. Best to do the manual ones or wash it at home.
As was mentioned above, there is room to negoitate the ESP. Don't think for a second that that is the fixed cost.
Personally, I plan to extend my ESP when it expires. Truck just puked a second heater core after having it replaced just last year. I find a lot of relief in going "meh...

Speaking of the rear window trim, does anyone know if you can replace just that trim? Mine was damaged when I bought the truck and have always wanted to replace it if possible.

In Gen 1...we have gas hungry V8s....and our engines stay on :)
The thermostats that they put in these trucks are junk, I've had one expire every 30k miles.
I'd buy a new thermostat and gasket, swap them and try again. It sounds like the one you have is stuck open.
