Just wanted to thank those in this thread! My gen 2 started clunk from the front end over dirt roads/washboard/some potholes at lower speeds once it hit roughly 65k miles.
Got underneath the truck to try to feel if the endlinks had any play but the did not move/rattle/shift at all. Decided to...
It's great to see more guys starting to turbo swap these & especially doing the work themselves. Definitely interested in for more pictures of your progress
Great find! Have you or anyone else installed this kit and verified it eliminates the wastegate rattle?
I've tried the "spring fix" with the hillman spring 543183 and it maybe helped a bit at cold start but I can definitely still hear the rattle at light loads.
I think my driver side heating element just went bad in my gen 2. Anyone end up doing it themselves? Watched a couple youtube videos of people with 12th gen's changing them and it seems easy enough, nothing with a '17+ though
I've had the factory flex fuel logic running on my '18 for ~4 months/4500 miles and roughly 10 fill-ups of varying ethanol content between E10 and E55. I've yet to see a matured ethanol content >4% off from measured via an external continental sensor. Generally takes a single 10 minute highway &...
The kit is just meant to monitor ethanol content, not adjust the tune for it. You must go through your tuner or go with HP Tuners to get flex fuel adjusting the tune,
Nice! Should move out pretty good with those turbos. Unfortunately you'll likely be at the limit of the fuel system (not the turbos), so you'll likely have to blend ethanol if you want to maximize power (e30 blend should get you to ballpark low to mid 500's whp with those turbos). You can also...
what stage CR turbos do you have? what are you looking for out of the truck? any WHP goal?
E50 would just be filling up half pump-grade e85 and half 93 e10 fuel. This is preferred because it is less "taxing" on the fuel system than straight e85. Either one would work for you, or a flex fuel...
Would fueling modifications do you have? straight E85 requires a pretty stout fuel system.
I would recommend a Flex fuel tune, I have it working well on my truck so I assume they could as well. It's the best of both worlds, solid power on e50 and still have the ability to run 93 when you go on...
Downpipes will only show appreciable gains if you're really "pushing the turbos" or running upgraded turbos, backpressure at rated power (450bhp) is only about 40kPa which indicates the exhaust/catalyst system flows well from the factory.
Always depends on the goals, but I think factory...
