It may also be the front bump-stops being contacted over little bumps; you can move them around with you hands. They are inside the spring covering most of the shaft.
Took it to Anza Borrego last weekend and had a blast. The clunking was not present when off-roading and seemed to drastically decrease after the trip. Starting to think that it’s the shocks doing their thing. Take it off-road, you won’t regret it (within reason)!
I had a shop (not ford) look at it and they said the amount of play was normal. If it becomes more of an issue, I’ll take it to ford; otherwise, I’m going to drive it to my heart’s content.
I also have the clunking noise(s); I believe it is a culmination of the oil catch pan/router rattling against the steering rack, another plastic shield on the driver side next to the front differential and excess play in the brake calipers. I can replicate the exact noise by tapping the calipers...
35's; better performance everywhere else besides in the rocks (how often will any of us be crawling our raptors?), better mpg, better handling, looks more proportionate in my eyes, cheaper, can select better looking beadlock wheels, significantly more travel and more likely to fit, height wise...
Get the beadlocks; they look great, are factory (help with resale value), are beadlocks and are (generally speaking) priced well in regards to other beadlock wheels on the market (Method).
I have an order number, but no vin number. The dealer said they don’t have the vin number yet and it will be a while before they get it. Why does everyone else seem to have it and their build dates??
Yes, they are definitely showcasing the 37's and not the 35's. It would be nice if they put out videos of raptors with 35s and the optional bead lock wheels. There are a few pixely/dark videos of a white raptor with 35's on youtube, but it's hard to make out.
