Whipple on through the summer months - fall weather below 90 brings even more response. I enjoy the throttle proportion (some torque w/ little throttle, increasing nearly linear, then much at high RPM and all throttle). It's easier to drive around town - just not like a 2,000 lb Corvette for...
One comment on the SC to off-road. At the Texas Raptor Run this year we went through mud puddles built fairly deep and I followed along. The AFE CAI I had (which uses most of the stock intake box) got plenty of mud, and the AFE dry filter was splashed (about 1/2 of the surface) w/ mud.
The...
I'd call it a plan, is not far from where I am. I'd qualify the SC as a "need" in terms of the pleasure added to the driving experience. Had mine for over a month and I'm still amazed and learning about how it drives.
My time on is 99% on the road (went to the Texas Raptor Run this year, no...
2010 SCAB - 6.2L - 15,000 miles
10.2 MPG - City - was a tune and CAI
12.1 MPG - City - (and climbing) - w/ Whipple SC
93 Octane both cases, AND the SC has only seen 100 deg + temps
Hello bc - There are a number of posts w/ a lot of data, so I don't want to be redundant.
I've got the Whipple on for a week now and can discuss at length if it'll help.
1) Resource to find an "dealer" near you for the price.
2) Some pre-requisites now established of keeping it "standard"...
You might ask for "Jeff". He spoke w/ me last time I had questions about the tune and was very helpful. Good luck - look forward to hearing what's up.
I missed it in the thread - are you having issues w/ the temperature on the engine?
Worked the truck yesterday - 105 on the outside temp, put 800 lb of boxes w/ film in the back - and it still had all the mojo and AC.
The indication I have is from the packing box, and no statement from the installer that they didn't put the thermostat in. I'd had Ford warranty replacement of...
Adding my truck to the Whipple population. 2010 SCAB, so a bit different than most. Some observations:
1. Torque on the highway improved - easy to maintain or speed up (and quiet!)
2. 60 to 90 on a downshift is incredible! Front twists and tries to lift up.
3. Drivability - the boost is not...
I stand corrected. Had emailed Whipple and didn't expect contradiction.
But...Whipple did say for sure that I've got to ship them the PCM, they flash and ovenight back. Intuitive response is not to like having the truck down for min 2 to 3 days during PCM transfer, nor being dependent, but then...
Got one on order as well. 6 week delivery (ouch - impatience my part). Checked w/ the install team that had questioned Whipple on the tune - it's just sending them the code ID for the truck. Don't have to send them physical eqt. - they'll send back the tune w/ the embedded ID for the truck...
Agreed - the description and focus on the key concerns really appreciated. Mistakes get made, but I like the Raptor too much to ruin the experience. Everything I hear about what went into the design and intended result has got me convinced.
