A mirror tap is a short harness which plugs into your radar detector and on the other end, it has small brass pins which you insert into the back of the mirror connector. You are looking for +12 switched ignition and ground to power the detector. Most all modern Ford vehicles have both available on the mirror connector.

I have always had the top of the line built-in Escorts in my previous vehicles - but the new Max Ci360 is just too expensive. I went with the K40 360 (not cheap either) in my 2018 Raptor - and I am very happy with it.

I have the Uniden R3 and it's been spectacular. Good filtering and the detection range for KA band (what most of the cops in my area use) is incredible. Using the R3 in conjunction with the WAZE app on my iPhone has saved my ass multiple times now.

I thought about doing something similar, but it seems like the technology on Jammers needs to constantly change in order to be effective. I am having a hard time pulling the plug on something that is over $600 and could potentially be obsolete in a year or less. I understand that tickets are also expensive and insurance rates could also go up with a ticket, but I just can't get myself to drop that kind of money given the potential short time frame I would be fully protected.

ALP updates on a more regular basis than anyone.

That’s the benefit of the ALP. They issue firmware updates all the time to update for the latest guns. After 2 tickets in my GTR with a passport I installed the ALP and it kept me safe.

this. I wanted to minimize how bad I got it when i decided to do gold rush a few years back. Others got tagged running ****** shifters and one guy got popped while using a much much pricier option than ALP. I am happy to say, I got lucky and the ALP set up did its job.

they now offer an add-on to tie the system into a bunch of different radar options too.

I tend to find out pretty quickly when dragoneye updates happen and ALP usually follows those dragoneye updates with an update of their own about 30-60 days afterwards. They recently released the TX heads, of which I have 2 and they work amazingly well.

Love my ****** 9500ix, the GPS and associated app are extremely helpful. But I have been eyeing the ****** Max 360, that’s the route I would go if buying new. I have also ran the ALP laser jammer and it worked well.

I have the Max 360, erroneous alerts on K Band (which you can't turn off) from anti-collision radar will drive you bonkers. Useless anywhere other than sparsely populated highways and freeways.

The ALP requires a new transmitter, called the TX, to jam the newest guns. Go to the desktop or international site for more info.

You can turn off K band detection on the max 360. You have to do it with your computer.

Look up uniden R3. Rated number 1 on most reviews even up against detectors more expensive. Highly recommend.
