The Raptor weighs over 2000lbs more than the GT350 and the 5.2 makes it power at high rpms (over 5000) . Below its 5000rpm range it’s hp is under 350 and about 250hp at about 3000 and below rpms. Just with the Raptor’s extra weight and big tires alone, you would have to stand on the gas pedal to get it into the 7000rpm range in order to tap into the 500hp potential. It would only be good for drag racing(if that), not for what the Raptor is intended for.

We all know it's not going to happen but I wholeheartedly disagree. Before I drove a 5.2 I said the same thing. The 6.2 and the 5.2 are very similar in TQ curves and power numbers through the revs, the only difference the peak HP at 7700 rpm.

6.2 max power 341hp at 5500rpm

5.2 is making 380ish at 5500rpm

6.2 max TQ 360 @ 4500rpm

5.2 max TQ 374 @ 4900rpm

The TQ does come on 1000 rpm later on the 5.2 than the 6.2 but the ability to rev to 8000rpm would be nice. When I'm driving out in the desert the engine speed is constantly going between 4000-6000rpm because that's where the meat of the power is. I think a Raptor with the 5.2 would suck at drag racing. It's not a drag racing motor. It's made like a 125cc two stroke, keep it in the meat of the power band and scream it!

Not saying the 5.2 would be any better than the 6.2 and the EB will definitely have a better TQ curve but damn it would sound badass screaming across the desert at full tilt!!!

Maybe someone will get the balls to put a 5.2 in a Raptor...

Wonder what a GT350 would be like with an F Bomb Garage 6.2 transplant...hmmm

I think we are saying the same thing in different ways. I agree with the high revs the 5.2 needs to make over 300hp. I don’t know what the low rpm numbers are for the 6.2, but to drive a heavy vehicle that requires mashing the gas for power sounds like that’s only good for a race only vehicle. Also, normal driving (on and off-road) is at about 2000 to 4000 rpm, which means a 5.2 raptor would only use 200 – 300hp at those rpms. With the tires and weight that would be horrible. I could be wrong, but the number are not working for me.

But it would sound sooooooooo good!!!

Here are some dyno sheets for comparison
