Sync 3 upgrade, to nav or not to nav.

I am intending to upgrade to a sync 3 setup to use AA/Carplay. I am assuming that the Android Auto map function still works on a non nav unit, and if it does would there be any benefit to running a nav unit if a non nav has a better gps system?

Android auto and carplay work with both variants and use the phone's gps for the navigation. I went with the nav version just because I don't always have my phone plugged in and like to glance at the oem map every now and then to look for backroads in traffic.

Always go nav. If you're somewhere without cell reception and need to get directions, you're SOL until you get a bar.

Like the Fuse 27 relocation kit if you don't do it, you will be sorry someday. Same goes with NAV, if you don't do it, you will be sorry someday when you really need it.
