FRF; I picked up a new steering wheel for my GEN2. Ive watched videos on you tube but I’m struggling to remove the airbag.

I can move it forward slightly, after pushing the springs from the sides of the wheels. I’ve kept slight pressure by pulling but no luck.

Anyone else struggle? Any tricks I’m missing?

Thanks for any tips

you need a decent bit of force to pop it up, i used a long screw driver for the side holes, work one side (never fully releases) then the other side, but you need some force to pop it out. Be careful not to yank it out cause theres three plugs attached to it.

Also mark the 12 o'clock position, the aligning tabs dont guarantee the same location.

Thanks everyone. I got it. The pick I was using wasn’t pushing releasing the spring all the way.

Thanks again everyone
