seriously try it I'm not saying press it much just a hair ever so slightly you will see they don't cost freely, always decelerating ya you still coast but not free.

I understand what you're saying. I guess in many cases I am only backing off the gas, and in other cases I am completely letting off the gas.

There's a balance that allows you to keep momentum. If you don't keep momentum, then it takes too much power to get back up to speed.

I'm fine with the MPG, just wish I could get what others claim.

ya was just stating the car's now days seem to have a lot of engine breaking. I think it's because no one slows down any more they just slam on the brakes. so if you take your food off the peddle you are not costing. js

OK, this is were I have to draw the line!! I never, ever, ever put food on the gas peddle. Maybe some french fries land on the floor mat, but never on the peddle.

:happy175:

It would be great if we could convince the SVT team to use regenerative braking to power all of our offroad lights!

you have to have this kind of prof for me to beleve you get the mpg you get a trip count with miles on it and at least a half a tank gone.

I'm guessing this is the last time I see this..... I reset the day I bought it and as I drove it home.

I was at 16.1 until I hooked the small trailer on last week. I'm about to hook up the tandem trailer and this will go south quickly!!

17.5? 15.9???

I've got a '12 SCREW, dead stock in the engine compartment, and with 1000mi on the truck I'm always getting 11 +\- .5 in the city, whether aircon is on or off, and whether I'm driving like a jerk or being thrifty and trying to win an imaginary mpg video game with my onboard computer. I've been running 87 with e10% (just what my nearest pump has).

I just did my first highway trip, 160 miles both directions, and did 12.5; I was doing 75-ish.

How on earth are there SCREWS out there doing 4 to 5 mpg better? I could run on a quarter tank (less weight) of 93, barely use the gas peddle, and still would not believe a 17.5 mpg if I saw it with my own eyes.

What's the deal? Are there genuine 5mpg differences between engines?

Yeah, I just did a road trip from Denver to Vegas on cruise control. I got 14.3 mpg with no A/C. I usually run right at 11.5 mpg around town.
