I'm a dentist in a very small rural N. GA town... My office is literally 4 miles from my house and I only work 4 days a week. You do the math on that one ;)

The 8 mile round trip commute every morning was actually detrimental on the Porsche... the 911/997.2 draws something like 26.5 milli amps and just about every bit of power from the alternator goes to operating the car when its running. This is a weird quirky thing about the new 911's... for such a short daily drive, I need to put the car on a battery tender every weekend to keep the battery juiced... This is my first Porsche and killed one battery not knowing this.

For my first few mods, I was thinking of CAI (K&N?) and perhaps some electric cutouts for the exhaust... Before the Porsche, I had a 2007 Z06 with electric cutouts... that 7L V8 with cutouts was wicked!

Interesting thing about the GM ECU on the Z06... if you flash the computer and dyno it for more HP. GM can NOT tell that the car was given a new tune... there is NO flash counter on their cars/gas engines... they only have a flash counter on their diesel trucks! So, dyno/reasonable tune... you don't have to worry about voiding your warranty.

Can anyone tell me about Fords? If I dyno and tune the ECU, does Ford have a flash counter? Any Ford tuners in the North Atlanta area?

Hey Mark, I'm in Atlanta. If your truck is 49, try get around 45 or so... I have a '10 Blue Flame that was priced at 49,999 and I negotiated them down to 45,000 plus ttt.

Where are you purchasing from?

When you get that car we need to go wheel up in North Georgia.

I am getting cut outs installed Monday! From G & S muffler

My one suggestion if your going to be doing lots of water crossings is to add an extended rear differential breather. This is a popular mod on Toyotas, I can only imagine it could be done on the Raptor. For an example of what I'm talking about Click Here I will be looking to do this mod on my Raptor and will be sure and do a writeup on what I find out. Being in New Orleans we get standing water after a hard rain so I need to be ready for anything!

So, this land you speak of... sounds like a great place for a South East Raptor roundup! ;) Are you selling the 911? Do you ever get it on the track? I know PCA had a big event at Road Atlanta this weekend. You should definitely check some of their events out if you end up keeping the car. Also let me know if you ever want to do any mods, I have several friends that have been tuning *** cars for years and will lead you in the right direction.

Cheers,

If you are not able to get the truck to fit in your garage(hight wise), you can always take some of the preload out of the coil overs up front and pull the blocks out the rear. Doing this will get you a few inch's lower

The bonus of doing this is that the truck will corner like nothing no other truck out there

The way you make your "driveway" sound is amazing, wish I had 2 water crossing instead of street lights on my 4 mile drive home
