It comes with a box. Hides the wire just fine on the shelf.

You picking up random trailers? A lot of others just keep it in the center console. I personally don't like to give thieves any reason to break into the truck. So I don't keep much in it, let alone in the open. It's easy enough already.

i have tinted windows and have it autoshut off, so its very difficult to see, i tow a jet ski and some random stuff, and want the option.

Welcome aboard! I did the Snowball Run in northern Michigan early this year and there were a bunch of guys from around Chicago that were there. I don't think I'll have the time off to go to the next one, but you should look into it if you like driving snowy trails!
