I have an aftermarket HID kit put in my 2010 raptor, previous I had the 35w 10000K kit and it worked fine for a year at least then one side changed colors and started flickering and sometimes would fully go out. I got fed up and decided to change to a 55w 10000k kit just cause I wasn't happy with the output I got with the 35w. This 55w kit is newly put in but right off the bat one side is different color and its still flickering, also it looks like the housing inside is getting a cloudy line (possibly burning the housing?)... What would be the causes of this flickering problem all of a sudden after my first kit worked fine then started to **** up after a year? Any solutions or should I just scrap the HID all together and get a drop in light thats brighter than factory? If it wasn't for the color change one side and the flickering I would actually be happy with the 55w kit. Also I moved to the 55w kit as well because it is DOT approved.

10,000K, lol.

Yeah I went with 10000k cause I like the look of the colour. I am aware I do lose distance and shit but that's fine.

did you change the bulbs too? you might need to use a relay pack as well..... or contact the guy above me.......

Everything is changed for the 55w application, there is already relay on the harness.

Just a heads up... a 55w 10000K bulb puts out less then half the lumen as a 35w 4300K bulb. Its not all about wattage.

crappy kit! is there any customer support where you bought them from?

Got them through a guy I know, it's only the driver side that is color change/flickering so going to try a new bulb and what not. If that doesn't work then I'm just returning the whole kit then going back to stock till I get a set up made.

95% of the problems with an aftermarket HID installation are improper grounding or crappy components. Check your grounds and the battery connection carefully. If you decide to replace your components, and want to stay with a Plug & Play kit to drop into the factory head lights consider the H13 Bi-Xenon kit from The Retrofit Source. They use bullet proof components that work, period. You can get the H13 Bi-Xenon kit with 4300K, 5000K or 6000K bulbs and 35W or 50W ballasts. A quality bulb, ballast and relay/harness should provide several years of trouble free operation. Good luck.
