usually those leds will burn up on a direct 12v connection. you will need a resistor.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I wanted a blue LED and the Ford part was a red LED, so I was looking into what i needed, but then I changed my mind and now I want a red LED. So I ordered the part and will install it myself. Seems pretty simple.

@ZBoater what are you trying to do with the LED?

I was thinking of installing a blue LED, but changed my mind. So ended up ordering the Ford part.

I associate a red LED with a car alarm and or maybe a dummy alarm. I associate a blue LED with a high end alarm system. But, either way, red or blue, is better than nothing.
