I personally think Joe could have gone faster, John was hammering it across the whoops and the truck was doing great, however that screws longer wheelbase might hurt you a.little.

Depending on distance between whoops, it also might help.

Trophy truck sized whoops and a raptor don't mix. You pretty much have to idle through them.

As everyone else said. Know your opponent. Wash board can grow into 1 footers which can grow into 3 footers. No fun.

Little steps! Your doing it right. Do some practice runs now til next year, and you'll be ready for TRR in April.

You will also know what you want to change for your truck.

Thanks for the info guys. I think for this first trip I'm going to just roll over anything bigger than 1 foot. At least until I can get a Stage 3 in there. No jumping this trip either, unfortunately.

You'll be surprised.. If you have ridden a quad, the Raptor is just a 3 ton quad.

I'm taking my blue screw out to the Anza Borrego desert on November 2nd to de-virginize it.

Which means you have exactly one week to do the right thing - beg, steal, borrow your way into at least an entry level Stage kit to keep your pretty frame straight. It is way too easy to get a little carried away, and one little mistake can cost you bigtime. It sounds like a gentle deflowering may be the intention, but she will give you much greater returns in the long run if on your first go at it you don't break her back!

I hear ya. I've been out there many times in my first and second gen Xterras so I'm not new to it. I'm just going to "Xterra" (maybe a little more) it for this trip and get the Stage 3 before the next one. I want to jump!

My local four wheel parts has a call in to RPG. They're going to quote me a price in the next couple of days. Maybe I can get it in before the Nov 2nd trip.

Thanks for the advice.
