Best exhaust cutouts?

Quick and easy answer i deduct here is :
On road you are "ok"
Offroad you will just waste the money


So what destoys them so fast ?
Dirt and dust ? Or rocks?
Can't they be shielded?
Or have the exuater mounted remotely with steel cabbles moving the flap
Or is the flap the problem?

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. So do you still have the Y pipe on then? So you use it? Can just keeping the Y pipe on hurt anything? I feel like the exhaust would try to go down the y and get backed up? Like back pressure or anything?

Had them on my last truck a lifted GMC with 6.0 and my buddy with a silvy ss has them also. They all failed. I took the y pipes out and my buddy left them in with no issues

Yea, I dont think having the Y pipes there would have any noticeable effects
