This is the idea I am going to stick with. It's way quicker than removing the skid plate panel or the whole skid plate like others have suggested.

  • Drain oil
  • Put medium sized Tupperware container underneath the oil filter
  • Loosen the oil filter a few turns and let it dribble out in to the Tupperware
  • Once it stops draining just unscrew the oil filter and dump the rest in to the container

There's plenty of room to get the old filter and/or the Tupperware back out without spilling a drop! Just reach right down.

I use the access panel, no mess, not even a drip:bleh:

Anyone try using a topsider with the Raptor?

I have one in my garage and think I might try that next oil change.

Won't resolve the filter mess though.

You're gonna end up with a face full of oil, Bird!

We wanna see pics of you dumping that Tupperware on your beak and then walking around like some product of the Exxon Valdez spill. :)

I think I'll be sticking to the access panel meself. It's quick and easy. Even removing the entire skid plate only takes like 4-5 minutes, but after trying the access panel I'm now sold on that method.

I tried your tupperware idea and it wouldn't fit, how about a pic of this thing.
Did you cut it to fit cause I even tried a paper plate just to see if it would fit and
barely fit.
I just laid a rag under it and took it off fast.

Try a watter bottle, you shouldnt need any cutting to make this little baby fit
