Got a chance to detail the truck since I bought it. Made it 500 miles home relatively clean. First day to work it gets covered in grime on the bypass .

Found out that the rocker panels had been painted with some cheap black paint apparently to hide more rust. also found a spot at the front of both front doors.

Pulled door sill trims and found driver's rear in not so great shape, passenger side was light rust, driver front had almost no rust.

Bottom of rockers and under door sill trim will get the rust wire wheeled or removed another way, then painted with rust reformer.
Bottom of rockers I don't care to have paint matched as they are hidden by the steps and never seen.

Cab corners, and any really bad parts of the rockers will get cut out, replaced, and painted before too long, just not yet.

Truck came with a Pedal Commander installed. Was going to just leave it and maybe use it in eco mode on longer trips.

Spun the tires the other day and truck gave me a wrench and went into limp mode. Pulled into a parking lot, shut the truck off for a minute, then restarted it and it behaved normally.

Pulled the code when I got home and it was "P2138 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch 'D'/'E' Voltage Correlation"

Seen a similar code while playing with Pedal Commanders before and changing settings while going down the road. Cleared the code and waited to see if it'd do it again. A day or two later it did. So, pulled the P.C. out of the truck as that's probably the culprit and will be seeing if it happens again

Hardwired the remote control in for my 9500ix radar detector and found nastiness too. Had to clean that up while I was in there.

Truck does amazing towing 5hrs round trip too. Not a single issue the whole trip. Put the Explorer up to make a larger payment towards the Raptor loan, traded for 1990 Foxbody CHP SSP trunk car as it should be easier to sell, and maybe bring a little more $ than the explorer. Maybe

Thought I had some triple fog light single bulb Morimoto pods and brackets lined up for $100. Paid for and all, but seller couldn't find the brackets. So I guess I'm going to have to pay the Raptor tax after all to play. Seriously considering fabbing up my own triple pod brackets. Need dimensions of lights first though, which means I need lights first.

Want to do an Evil Offroad style roof light bar, but I can't justify paying $500 just for a nice bracket. Guess my and my bud are gonna be looking into getting a tubing roller or bender and I'll fab my own.

Have a 12k pound winch mounted on my old blown engine Mountaineer that will get a hidden mount on the raptor.

Eventually baja style front and rear bumpers, but will retain hidden winch.

Also ordered a Bulletpoint RubiGrid dash mount for my phone. Tired of it taking up a cup holder while running GPS. It will also serve to mount GoPro and radio(s) when offroading, and possibly a secondary light controller. Ordered it with the red CF arm and wireless phone charger bracket

Yup. I need a cab corner. Waxoyl makes some good products for preventing rust.
Was gonna strip the oily coating that's been applied underneath and POR-15 everything. My secondary concern to stopping the rust from spreading and repairing it, is being able to paint it afterwards too

Found cab corners and even full rocker panels on amazon. Cab corners were under $50, rocker panels were over $400

Those rockers and cab corners are trashed. Expect to pay a shop $4-5000 to fix it correctly. The whole inner and outer rocker will need to be cut out and replaced and the bed will need to be removed to access that area. Check your third brake light it's probably leaking and causing the rust damage.

I'm comfortable enough to order the metal, cut out the old, weld in new, body work it and then pay someone to paint it since either have no experience blending with existing paint.
