To be on topic; many of the electrical functions are no longer performed by switches and relays, but by computers.
It is likely that one of your add on devices send a temporary short though the system and a protective shot down of some circuits accrued.
If you add any electrical connections that could be exposed to moisture it will help using a dielectric grease.
