so if you only insured the lone amount that is all the insurance company will cover. example truck is 62k but you only borrow 35k and only insured 35k they cover 35k.
if you have a 62k truck and insured it for 85k the 85k is covered. nobody dose that just shooting it out there.

if the lady that hit you has insurance none of the above matters her insurance covers you hole truck + mod's loss of life or what not.

Where does it fall short? I have $500k in property paid off that I don't want to lose. I owe another $500k on it all, but baby steps. If something happened, someone could make me sell it or take it and own $500k.

The coverage limits you have on your policy leave you exposed to say the least. You might want to look into getting some proper property insurance, liability and umbrella policies if you truly have those assets to protect. In short, your car insurance policy is not going to give any protection for the property your own.

Bottom Line______________________March 5th!

Outa the weeds and back to the important stuff! Gotta get you and your truck to the Baja Run!

Over to Connor and get it rolling first (after full damage assessment to ensure is not totaled of course). It doesn't have to look pretty for this run - cosmetics can wait!

7 weeks. The countdown begins...

Ok...if the girls policy or her parents policy has the same low limits and they don't have an umbrella policy to take care of the difference...you might be in court, which is where nobody wins but the lawyers,...

As far as the seatbelt...I would not advertise it, but it should not matter other than as a negotiation tactic from her insurance...

Bottom line - you were hit and it has been showed it is not your fault...her insurance should make you whole....anything else is unacceptable IMHO....

As far as going to the doctor...your call...but it doesn't hurt, pardon the pun, to document that hey I am taking this seriously...

You might want to check with your insurance agent and see if you policy or umbrella, I did not read the entire post on your policy, will cover the difference...

Laws vary for state to star, but I carry $250k/$1M in coverage, plus I carry a $2M Umbrella...

I think the umbrella is only like $500 per year and the cost for the higher coverage is nominal...

If it is NOT totalled - make sure and go after diminished value from the other insurance co.

Should be able to pocket AT LEAST $6000.

Your insurance policy is minimum state requirements likely. I would highly recommend upping your limits to min 100K-300k. Accidents do happen. You could likely increase your deductible and limits while not increasing your premium.

Agreed...if you got my luck I would hit a car load of lawyers driving a $100k Benz...
