Well if you don't update you will get screwed and using a free anti virus program is no way to go if you actually need your PC.
And if it's a only a virus it can be fixed easily.

Well this sucks.. Only system that I would take over Sync is the Latest BMW as I like the Google integration. Do not want Blackberry crap anywhere near my vehicles.

I really was not a fan of the BMW i drive knob, but other than that the new system is sweet. But the Sync system does great on Voice and I like the 4 quadrant touch setup as it works great for me. Only thing I wish is that on the bottom of the screen no matter which screen you were on that the bottom right would have a button to turn on/off the seat ventilation & heating without having to go to the home or climate screen.

Just get the base model with no entertainment system then do whatever suits you.
Save a ton of cash and actually get what you want at the same time.

That really does not work well these days when everything is integrated. And then how they add options as part of the package you are then also stuck with some things just to get others.

Back before head units were just wired in for power to the car I always would get the base system and replace it, now its not such an easy thing as you have to compromise.

Sometimes it's a pain, but the base stereo is always less complex. But you're right about the packages. They tend to throw in a bunch of crap you don't really want. You might get lucky the first couple model years and be able to avoid packages though.
