Rear Facing Amber Fog - Flush Mount

Wondering if anyone has a good solution. I live in extreme fog area... total white out often, on dangerous highway with cliffs. Kinda sketchy and always worried someone will come up from behind and not see me.

Looking for a rear-facing amber fog light, like race vehicles have.

But... I want something that will flush mount somehow, looking more factory appearance versus bolted-on. Need it pretty bright, as will only be used in treacherous conditions.

Up in the third brake light housing would be cool, but not sure if there is enough room or options there. So maybe into rear bumper?

Either one strobe or two that alternate might be cool.

Anyone done something like this?

@Red Ghost Not sure which generation you have. But Miller Offroad Design has a slick set up for the 3rd brake light replacement. I have seen him add both ambers as opposed to just one white and one amber. I have followed a truck with this set up and it is really really bright. MILLER OFFROAD DESIGN FORD RAPTOR 2010-2014 BAJA DESIGNS S2 3rd BRAKE LIGHT - MILLER OFFROAD DESIGN

I bought two lights that mount to the back seat headrest. M&R has a kit for 250$ I believe and they are really bright. When off it’s hard to even tell they are there.

Your amber lights are mounted inside the cab to the backseat headrests and they shine through the factory tinted rear window and they don't bathe the inside of the cab with reflected amber light???

Sounds like a good idea. I'd like to see what it looks/works like. Unfortunately their website doesn't show it installed or functioning

I have a Gen 1... 2014. Looks to me from website that it replaces 3rd light setup so you lose factory functionality of brake light, etc.

I found the Feniex cannons that might be able to mount inside the 3rd brake housing or the tail lights. emailed them to find out.

That's how I thought the Miller lights were installed - I didn't realize they replace the factory lights which is a no-go for me.

It'd be cool to have ambers, controlled by an Upfitter, located in the CHMS Light bezel. Let us know what you find out.

I'll update when (if) they respond. Or maybe will just take apart some lights and see if there is room. Looks like they use this on emergency vehicles, etc., so hoping this is how they do it.

@Red Ghost @WhatExit? The miller light retains ALL factory functionality. It has the three red LED's that function with the headlights and brake lights. The white S2 on the right side functions as your normal bed light does. This has the added benefit of the amber S2 to be utilized as a dust light. It can be configured with either two white or two amber. They can be wired to an up-fitter as you please. If you guys Facebook there are some pictures there of his set up. I know there are some people here running it. I can't remember now who in my group had it installed last snoball but it is a really good option.
@Fusco0520 I know I saw TJ tell you in another thread that those lights are junk. You got robbed. See if you can return them. They are grossly inadequate as a dust light. Seem great in theory but they simply are not bright enough. Even opening your rear slider they still are garbage. And too low to be seen over your tailgate as your truck rolls with the terrain.

That holds true for you other two that have/want to mount them in the bumper. Far to low to do any good at all. Wasting your time, don't even bother.
