Hello all,

I just got a '14 screw, and enjoy the truck greatly.

However, I've noticed an issue that is occurring more and more often. I will turn the key to accessory, I have music coming from the radio, and when I turn the key to start the truck, the sound is gone.

If I touch the screen, I get the beep sound out of the speakers, but no matter how loud I turn up the audio (regardless if its FM/CD/Sirius), I get no audio. If I shut the truck off and turn it back on, the sound comes back. Then the next time I start it, audio. Perhaps the next time, nothing. Its very inconsistent.

I signed up for the ford owners site, and it claims that my Sync is up to date last updated in 2014. I think the dealership did a master reset on the truck through as all the settings were pretty generic.

Is there anything I can do for this? It really disappoints me on an otherwise great ride.

Yes, its partially similar. The OP in that thread doesn't mention if they get "touch" sounds when the audio is off though. I have noticed that a restart of the truck seems to solve the problem, but like them, I agree that this is not a solution.

I have also started to notice a correlation with temperature. The hotter it is, the more time it takes for the radio to come on, or not to come on at all. When I get into the truck in the morning, its cool, the radio comes right on. I drive home with the A/C on, then shut the truck off and turn it back on while its still cool inside, radio comes right on.

Mine has done that too, similar with the Heat outside as well.

My old 2012, with the older sync, never had this issue.

The guy I used to deal with in the service department is gone, and the replacements/others are idiots. So, not really dying to bring it there unless it the issue gets worse.

I noticed that on these hot days, I will hear several "pops" in the glovebox, and I hear the same pops when I turn on the seat coolers (my Camaro does this too when the seat heaters are turned on). So I began to wonder...are the fuses struggling in hot weather? So I turned my bass, treble, and mid down to 0 range (the normal from the factory setting), and in the 4 days since I've done that, the radio has come on every single time.

I can't help but wonder if the fuses are bad? Or perhaps heat is playing with them? Either way, it seems to have solved the problem for now.
