Hi guys,

I have installed an onboard air compressor ( ARB CKMTA 12) in my raptor under the rear seat so it is out of the way and invisible, it is also a way to protect the compressor from dust, mud and water. The installation technician wanted to wire it to the Aux 3 switch because its 15 Amps and he did not need more as he hard it wired with a 40 Amps fuse directly to the battery but the wire that connects to Aux 3 switch (purple and green) had no power although the switch lit up when we flicked it. Any idea whats the reason? All the fuses are okay!

Here are a few pics of the installation and the finished product.

This wire you are trying to use, is it under the hood or behind glove box? Were all the pass thru wires spliced?

The wire I'm trying to use is behind the glove box. I did not need a pass through wire because my compressor is inside the car. He tested all the wires of the Aux switches and the only one that had power in it was the Aux 1 wire

I'd probably retest them myself to confirm. If no power but light is coming on at the switch then I'd start checking connections at the switch. Is it possible he tested the pass through wires and not the wires coming from the switches?

Maybe, but i was there and asked him many times which one he is testing and explained the difference and he confirmed he was looking at purple / green (Aux 3)

Dont these up fitters control relays? Maybe the switch control ckt is ok but the actual ckt that goes thru the relay has blown the fuse....

ok a dumb question are there existing pass through wires under the hood that can be connected to the ones by the glove box. i thought one had to provide the wiring after the firewall.

OK, a couple of possibilities: It needs to be grounded, If he found no power on that wire why use it? He may have hooked up to a pass through wire. You need to flick the switches on before checking for power, maybe only one switch was on hence only one wire had power.
Not sure if a relay should be used or not?
Lastly why is the technician wearing a Michael Jackson getup?
