2013 Last year for Raptor?

I saw a few members make a reference in other discussions (Sorry, don't remember which ones) to 2013 possibly being the last year of the Raptor? I don't see how this could be true considering how well it has done. Has anyone heard of what Ford's long term plans are for the Raptor?

Given that I am new to the "SVT" mindset and that everytime around things change (economics, executives, etc), what does past history tell us?

I had a car sales guy tell me that they probably were not going to make them for 2013 today... Don't believe everything you hear. As long as people are buying the product I'm sure they will keep making it. If Ford can't continue to improve on the product and outperform the previous model all while making some money, then they will kill it.

Being how svt first generation lightning was made 93 thru 95, then revamped for 99 to 04. Then was supposed to be reintroduced in 06. Which it wasn't. Seems ford would keep the current model at least till 13. But with the popularity of this truck it would be a good move on their part to keep it longer. I had a 04 lightning and when I bought it ford dealer told me they would discontinue lighting for 2 years. Back then I thought this truck is awesome. But would be cool in 4x4. When they did bring back the svt in 10 as the raptor I waited one year just to see how it would go over. I am very pleased. Then to find this site with all these diverse people. Makes it all the much more fun. Most days can't wait to get on here. If nothing else just for the entertainment. There are a bunch of dysfunctional people on here. And I mean that in a good way. The way SVT work is the Raptor will be around till end of the current generation.

Tank, that does make pretty good sense. So probably something like 6 years or so...

DIDO... Beemerman I love this place I personally dont see Ford pulling the Raptor unless they are loosing money on it, This I dont see either, it is way popular and hopefully will be a longterm part of the fleet
