Is the factory tailgate appliqué black or painted body color

I thought it's black but just stopped by a dealer and saw one body paint color lead foot... looked good

Its painted. Same color as the grille, bumpers and wheel trim.

IMO it looks good on Black, Lead, and Mag, thats about it.

Its black(ish). As others have stated above, same color as the front grille. In certain shade/ lighting, it can look the same color as leadfoot, but it is a different color. At least from the factory- of course it is always possible someone painted it body color. But I doubt a dealer would do that.

It is basically a satin version of Magnetic.

It is painted low gloss Magnetic just like the fender flares and front grill fascia. I've got a flare sitting at home right now that says painted to match low gloss Magnetic on the Ford sticker. No paint code provided though :-(

That's what I thought but the one at the local dealer is body color
