Yeah, Jon! Quit trying to cut in line. I NEED a set if I'm going to keep rescuing these Chevys. You guys have no idea how badly I want this project to see fruition.

I just want one that don't go out in slippery conditions, if something substantial take it out like a gremlin that would be ok...


are you using a good grease like amsoil or lucas on the gears?

Yep, we've been packing the IWE and entire axle/hub with Amsoil dominator racing grease. Definitely helps with positive engagement over the factory shmuck. We've even seen better wear patterns switching greases. For those that want to help their stock iwe's the best that they can for now, I would highly recommend repacking them with a good grease.

I'm guessing it's difficult to improve such a shit system. Not a lot of room in there for extra material

Bingo.

Going the RCV delete route is the easiest solution, but removes the OEM functionality, which is very important to many for various reasons.

Keeping OEM functionality is the challenge.
