External DVD on 2013

Hey I'm having my nav tv installed tomorrow and I was wondering has anyone installed a external DVD player in their console and hooked it up to the aux white yellow red?

I used a Phillips unit was on sale at Best Buy. Worked on a long trip for my son to watch movies. I now have the adapter cable for my iPad

Portable DCD players on Bestbuy under car video. I would check Amazon for a cheap player.
I used an adapter for iPod2 which is older plug. When I get home late tonight, I'll look if there is an adapter for iPhone 5 since I have one also.

What's the website I can check for the adapter for iPhone 5?

I can't find an adapter for iPhone 5, that is why I used my older iPad. Apparently iPhone 5 can provide digital output thru HDMI cable, then you have to buy a convertor to change from the digital HDMI to analog composite RCA output. The is another thread here about it and quality wasn't great.
