I ordered the SafeGlo 22’ camp flag pole along with the SafeGlo LED camp locator from James at Alternative Offroad. At every camp we have been at thus far, we have people asking about it and commenting on how neat it is. We have never seen anything like the camp locator at any camp we’ve been to yet. I think these are mostly a west coast thing?

The LED camp locator has many different settings and will change through 7 different colors. The camp locator has been an easy way to for other Raptor owners to find our camp at the Little Sahara Run. It also worked well when we were meeting our friends for the Memorial Day camping weekend. No one can miss an LED beacon at 22’ in the air.

I was able to wire the camp locator to a 12v cigarette charger plug since I had one available in the camper. James helped trouble shoot some wiring issues I needed to work out to get the camp locator wired, since my first attempt using a low voltage charger plug didn’t work. I mounted the flag holder with some stainless steel hardware to the side of the camper. The flag pole and SafeGlo LED camp locator has seen some pretty steady wind at the Little Sahara run, with no problems.

Did you find a way to keep it from shrinking? Lol

I didn't have it pushed up very tightly, so the strong wind caused it to come down a length. The pole extends like a telescope. And if it is not pulled tight, the joint can loosen up and fall into itself.

Did that make sense?
