Quick question looks like upfitter wire is 20 gauge. I am trying to hook up my ditch lights which has 16 gaugewire what would be the best way to connect 20 to 16 guage?

Solder a 16 to the 22. I soldered pigtails to all the wires to extend them.

There are butt connectors with 2 different wire gauge.

What is the amperage draw of the component? If it requires a 16 gauge wire, the upfitter circuit and/or junction box will be damaged if you try and power if using the 22 gauge wire and corresponding relay/fuse.
