Truck 3 months old and the rear shock blue and and body look bad

Hi truck is only 3 months old and the rear shock blue tops and the aluminum body are showing small pitting and oxidization marks. Any advice on how to clean them up and to protect them in the future.

I'm surprised to hear that you are already having corrosion after three months, with the assumption that they have not been exposed to deicing chemicals typically used during winter.

What have you been using to clean them so far?

Are they exposed to any other chemicals?

I would suggest cleaning them really well with Eco Wheel Cleaner and a Wheel Woolie and Trim Brush. For the oxidized areas, try some Revive Hand Polish.

Unfortunately, the pitting cannot be fixed with detailing products.

To protect them, use Ceramic Wheel Coating, applied per the instructions, with the correct preparation steps.

In order to clean them and apply the coating, you will need to remove the wheels to gain access.

Here's a pic of my shock after applying the coating. The shocks still look new, despite the exposure to deicing chemicals during the winter.

Also, with this new forum software, I do not have any formatting tools in the editor (ie no font size, color, hyperlink etc). I have tried Explorer and Chrome, both are the same. Does anyone else have these editor formatting tools? This software looks the same as over on FRF2, and that editor does have formatting options.

I just had the truck delivered from WI to IL. It is a 2018 Demo. The owner if the ford dealer was tooling around in it and by the stains and extra little mulch chips I had to pull from the tiny spaces in the bed it looks like the dealer owner had that red mulch in the bed during a rain or 6 then left the mulch in the bed for a while where the Dyes blead onto the rear shocks and all over the drive shaft and rear end. What was on the paint came off with my finger. So whatever chemicals are in that mulch screwed up the rear shocks. But I will 100% do what you did!!

There's no line of boxes along the top for links, pics, fonts like the pic below when you reply? It's different but does show up for me, using Chrome...

I tried Chrome again and now I see the editor options like you posted. Thank you! I still do not see them in Internet Explorer though.

I used Bioshield T9 on my shocks last winter, and they came through almost entirely undamaged. It goes on a little greasy, but held up really well.

This doesn't solve your problem of addressing the current damage, but it will prevent any further.
