Raptors are hardly cutting into the tens of thousands (if not more) F150's sold each year.

They may not want a Raptor:

because TODAY, I see $7-$8,000 off NEW 2011 King Ranch, Platinum, Lariats
because they want cooled/vented seats
because they want a higher payload (its lower on a Raptor)
because they want a longer bed (optional 6.5 bed)
because they want a smoother ride
because they want HomeLink
because they like chrome
because they like 20" wheels
because they like 18" wheels
because they prefer the King Ranch package
because they prefer the Harley Package
because they don't use/need 4WD

I have to tell ya, I would never buy a regular F150, but when I saw the Raptor and drove it, I was sold.

Is there a good place to hold my weapon? Nope.
is the center console made to hold anything? Nope.
Is there a pocket on the drivers side of console? Nope.
Is there leather anywhere besides seats? Nope.
Does it have cooled/vented seats like all the other F150's? Nope.

Is it cool to look at, and not 1,000 of them driving around town? Yep.

Raptors still cost a whole bunch more than Platinums and Lariats, both in terms of cost to buy (substantial) and cost to fuel (which is a bigger deal than it ought to be for a lot of folks).

I'm sure the Raptor cuts into the sales of just about everything, but I don't see them obviating the Platinum/Lariat line.

the only 150 I see that has a higher sticker than my Raptor is the Harley Edition. A friend of mine today saw a Platinum Crew and a King Ranch Crew and they both stickered at $52xxx.... loaded.

And all F150s hold 36 gallons, the Raptor has the worst mileage of all of em... even the Lariat 6.2 (we run 4.11 rear). and the Eco-boost is $700 more than the other engines, and gets 24 mpg

Some applications require a larger bed, larger towing capacity, better tires, smoother ride, a truck lower to the ground. The reasons are endless. Each vehicle to their own application. Why get a Raptor when you'll never use it off road as it is intended? My Raptor will never be able to tow like my F350. Friend of mine just got a 2011 F150, but he needed to tow his trailer and Shelby Terlingua. The towing/hauling capacity is why he got the regular F150.

Agreed 100%. I am working on finding a solution for the gun mount in my Raptor. Probably going to mod the center console and permamount a holster to it.

I'll add to the list too.

Who has the most comfortable seats Ford has ever produced? The Raptor.

Yesterday, before ordering my Raptor, I drove a Lariat with a 6.2 and all the options. I think it was $51k or so. That got me thinking, who would buy one of those editions, when they could have the Raptor for the same or less? I gotta think that the prices will increase significantly in 2012 for the Raptors with the way they are selling!

I don't think so. From year to year Ford does not raise a current model or trim level that much. A few hundred bucks.
