I have a 2012 red super crew Raptor (70k miles) and getting some shift shuddering when going up a slight hill and under light throttle. Also hear something rattling at times. I took it to a Ford dealer and they said it was an ignition coil. I paid to have that replaced and still having the issue a month later.

Are there any good shops in the North Atlanta area you guys would recommend? I only saw one post regarding all south but that’s a good 50 minutes north for me.

I may also be interested in adding a Whipple, updating the ECU and exhaust.

Thx

If anyone checks back on this …..

I went back to Ford thinking it was transmission and they said I would have to leave the truck with them for a minimum of four weeks because their transmission specialist was backed up.

I took the truck to landmark transmission and they were able to diagnose a complete misfire in cylinder #3. They replaced all the coils, plugs, wires and now it runs like new. They said the previous cyl 8 coil didn’t look touched by Ford. It was also 1/3rd the dealer cost.

This is typical, you should always replace all 8 coils and wires and plugs on the 6.2, Also I had a quote from Ford for all of those parts, Rockauto was a third of the price delivered to my house and the parts were all motorcraft except the wires were acDelco but oem fit 100%. Glad you got it fixed by somebody honest.
