Alright, I heard back quickly. Good news about the KO2 for folks in snowy places.

---------- Post added at 11:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:34 AM ----------

I went back and read the rest of the information on the tire page and found this:

You can see some triangle gizmos in the tread gaps similar to what is pointed out on the Exo Grappler page.

So, I'd decided on Duratracs and then the Exo Grappler and now I'm thinking maybe I just order a set of these KO2s.

I would venture to say there's not a huge difference between the ones with the snowflake symbol and those without...

I would venture to say you're correct but at a chain control station there is a huge difference and that is my main concern.

Here's the direct link for the YouTube video by BFG on the KO2. Figure it might be helpful as I couldn't get the video on the BFG site to play full screen and it was also defaulted to non-HD. Definitely waiting on real world reviews of these tires if my current factory tires can hold up long enough. I'm likely between these and the Goodyear Duratracs. Winter traction and wet traction are my main concerns.

The 35x12.5r17 is the exact same size as the stock raptor tires, which is why they don't have the 315/70r17 anymore

How is it that in post 35, the factory rep failed to point out that although they do not offer the 315/70r17, they do offer the exact same sized tire, that being the 35x12.5r17? Maybe because they are not the exact same size?

I did check the BFGoodrich website and I was able to find the 35x12.5r17

I called BFGoodrich customer service and they confirmed that the two were just about about same size. Just wondering why they changed the naming convention to the 35x12.5r17 but I guess it is slightly different than the 315/70r17

A quick check of the metric conversion tables showed that 315 mm = 12.4016 inches.

Should have just call my dealership and asked them about this.

I guess I could also measure the height of my OEM tires and see how close they are to the 35 inch height on the 35/12.5r17 Any difference would mean the aspect ratio would be different than the 70mm on the 315/70r17

But since my metric conversion chart works for 70mm, showing this to be 2.75591 inches, then applying some third grade math means that the 315/70r17's are 22.51 inches tall (2.75591 inches + 2.75591 inches +17 inches). Looks like I need to measure my tires with a yardstick and report directly back to third grade math......

Wait, that 70 is NOT mm, but the headwall height percentage. So 70% of 315mm = 8.68 inches. So now this works out to 34.36 inches (8.68 inches + 8.68 inches + 17 inches).

Not sure if the extra .64 of an inch in height will work on a Raptor, (34.36 inches tall OEM vs. 35 inches). At this point I am not sure of anything, except I am going to look silly in third grade math

You are overthinking it. 37" BFG's work fine on a Raptor with mid perch and minimal trimming (if any). You will have no problems with the 35/12.5R17 even if it is a true 35" tire

So I called BFG today and rep checked and said production starts Oct 5th. She said I could preorder through an authorized dealer and my order would be filled based on other preorders and my "number in line". So I went ahead and placed my preorder. Hopefully, I can get before January.
