There are a few vehicles that do have adjustable headlights. My wifes Grand Cherokee Overland has HID headlights that will adjust in height depending on if your pulling a trailer or the back is loaded down with people and luggage

does the car have a switch or does it go automatically?

The headlights are automatic along with the air suspension, it's 4wd and it will show you on the dash when you are in park the suspension is at entry level, put it in reverse or drive and it goes to raise level and when your cruising along it goes to aero level. When you manually select snow,mud,sand, etc it will raise or lower the Jeep, I think the max lift is a 2" over stock height and you can keep it at that height by manually increasing the height. When it breaks it`s a expensive fix, most people will convert it over to struts and springs

Correct, auto leveling headlights have been around for a long time.

But a switch? That's news to me. I guess you learn something new every day.
