Update: I called Ford. They told me that even though my vin matches, my build date matches, and the plant my truck was built at matches, that I am NOT able to get the retrofit. At first they said its because I didnt order my truck with heated steering wheel. I then asked, why do I have a credit for it then? Is it a standard feature? No its NOT. So why would I be credited for it, if I didnt order it? Ford rep got quiet and didnt know how to respond. What a joke. They basically said nothing they can do. Oh well, too bad.
Lame AF.

That’s bs anyway. No one ordered a 2023 with heated wheel because it would not have been picked up and built by Ford without your dealer selecting to remove it

I spoke to my dealer today. Mine was built in June of 2023 and they will do this for me. Apparently a new SCCM and some programming. I would have preferred the hard button but am happy I will at least have it. Well done Ford.
Post up some pics when you get it back. I'd be interested to see if the soft button they load requires the Unreal Theme like people are doing now. Unreal sucks, really.

That’s a great dealer relationship, most dealer's won’t touch even doing the work because it constitutes an “aftermarket modification”. Much less do it for free.

Why not poke them to replace the hvac as well with the button?

I talked to the largest dealer in my area... They said they couldn't do it.

I then talked to the smallest dealer in the area (and showed them the paperwork). They looked into it for a few days and came back saying their tech support resource (Ford employee?) said it probably wouldn't work.

Seems like no dealer is looking for paying service work these days.

My dealer did it in LA

$1300. Needed a new clock spring, and SCCM. Took 4 hours.

If dealers are saying it can't be done, they are stupid.

I posted the RO in another thread.
