GEN 2 Cooling fan running amock

So how much gas do I waste to find out if this fan ever turns off before I turn my engine off? New to me since December, haven't really driven much in this warm weather, today it's 77 degrees. After a 20 mile round trip. 2nd time it's happened. Wondering if any damage is being done by just turning the engine off before the fan stops? I always let it run a couple minutes no matter what before I do. This went on for over 5 mins, I finally gave up.

if its warm out and the A/C is running, its not going to shut off.. no matter how hot it is, i let mine idle down for 30sec and shut it off and walk away.. its gonna be ok.

Thanks! I didn't run the AC, had the windows down. Thinking about doing a coolant flush.

Was it on defrost by chance? Same as having the AC on, because it is.
