Getting all set up for the SnoBall and as a first timer to GLRE events, I had a couple questions to some of you guys/gals.

I have a stock Raptor set up, other than exterior lighting, and Mid Perch to be completed soon. I am looking to add a VHF radio for the trip, but was wondering, from previous SnoBallers, if there are any other "must haves" for this trip in particular (other than the list of required items).

I know I may get bombarded with ideas for mods to the truck, and I'm open to that, but for this trip, I'm looking to go as-is, with whatever other mods will be necessary, or very helpful.

Also, I'm heading out of the Minneapolis area and was wondering if anyone will be heading through here, or may have a route that would meet up with mine. Was planning on Friday morning departure, but totally flexible with that. Let me know.

I look forward to meeting everyone and finally getting this truck off the beaten path.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Some tips

Kick off your step boards at least every time you get gas. They can build up to the point of not being able to open the door. And if it freezes, then your screwed.

Get at least two bottles of washer fluid.

Read last year's snoball prep thread.

Buy these D-rings for holding gear in your bed. You need at least 6. They are about $3.25 each and are a dodge part.

Importantly, install a rear facing amber light and be sure that your rear third brake light is in good working order. (I think this is a requirement)

Bring snacks for your truck.

D-rings is a good mod. Did it for Havoc last year and still rocking the setup with my spare still in the bed and a box with straps and jack in it. Good to know about kicking the snow off the side steps. I need to order a new 3rd brake light though.

Ish my parents live in Akron Ohio . just about half way. I gotta stop and drop off tj. I would invite you to the house there for the night but I know they don't have room. But I know my mom will cook a mean Italian dinner for us. Hope we can convoy. I really don't want to drive to the top of Michigan in the dead of winter by myself.
