Has anybody run 38", 39" or 40" tires on the Raptor?

Thanks JP! I would definitely recommend giving 37's a shot. We've just got to figure out where to trim the fat to make these fit flawlessly. Only problem is that extensive use of a sawzall is required? :superhack:

Yeah, sawzall first then a Dremel for the fine tuning stuff. I can't stand how the 'fins' inside the wheel well collect dirt/mud - cutting them off would make cleaning so much easier (and I'd probably lose about 40 lbs of mud).
I just need to look at them closer to see how "structural" the liners are, and what can be safely removed.

I agree with JP7, not to many areas here either for a Pre-runner set-up but those 37" look sooo nice and maybe with a 3" lift or would it need more to get them under that beast? I wouldn't wanna go much higher then that.

3" of lift is a lot for an IFS truck, and will likely involve longer arms and driveshafts and possibly a modded steering shaft. The rear end is easier, with longer, properly arched, leaf springs - but unless the driveshaft is lengthened, you'll be exposing more of the spline at the top which may lead to a 'clunk' down the road.
37's will fit fine with the top perch mod and +2 Deavers. Some hacking away at the fenders may be the solution, or some kind of custom bump stop can be designed so the front doesn't fully compress.

I'll have a look this weekend, but this mod isn't in my budget until next year at least.

A.I.I I am suprised you did not suggest cutting out firewall then welding in a more tire accepting firewall. like in the old ranger race trucks. Loose a little leg room but, What's more important Cool big tires or streachin your legs out ? Tires !

Cutting out the firewall would not be fun. I almost had to cut out my entire firewall of the Sport Trac, luckily we were able to make some changes to my truck to where I saved myself a ton of welding.

With pushing the front suspension forward you're able to do the exact same thing.

Got any pics of your old Ranger's that you could post for us?

I will dig through some old pictures. Wasn't my ranger, I started adding up the cost and it didn't match my budget at the time so I got rid of that ranger. Seriously you want me to remember what truck it was I saw it on from 10 plus years ago ?
Like trying to remember the names of the girls/women I was with ? (sometimes I never cared about names LoL)

Whats the difference between Baja TA's and Grabbers? (Besides price)
What size fits stock, what size fits with mods? 35" stock 37" modified?

What about speed rating or street use? My raptor is street on the weekdays and offroad on the weekends (if I'm lucky).

Clearance issues aside, you would need to look at stronger hubs and rearend.
2" taller might not seem like much, but the loads created by the extra mass can be exponentially greater.

39" BFG Projects on SVT Raptor

Anyone run 39" Projects on a Raptor? Just curious what mods may be required. Love the way the Stewart Raceworks Raptor sits. Front & Rear glass would be a must, but I wonder what other mods would be required? Upgraded spindles? Upper/Lower Arms? 4-Link?

Front: Shift the front suspension forward with custom glass to center the tires in the wheel well and modify the firewall/cab beyond the standard "pinch-weld mod."

Rear: Custom glass and basically remove the OEM inner wheel wells.

Total: $$$
