This is the Desert National Wildlife Refuge located north of Las Vegas. The Mormon Wells trail runs east to west from roughly SR 95 to SR93. About 48 miles long. You start at the desert floor around 2000' and rise up to about 6800' then back to the floor on the other side. This area goes from desert scrub through yucca forests up into the pinion pines and firs. A little snow on this run and it was wet. A luxury that us desert guys don't see too often. This video was taken from our first run in January. We have ran this trail three times in the last two months, There are many side roads and hikes. The photos are from the old Mormon corral and springs...the corral is roughly 100 years old. There is a beautiful campground on this one at 6500'. So it should be cooler in the summer. Many side trails and hikes of numerous lengths. Watch it in HD. Enjoy...we did!!!

Great video, looks like loads of fun.
What type of camera and mount did you use to record that, looked very steady.

It depends on how many stops you make along the way. The posted speed limit is 25:naughty::naughty::naughty:
The orange beast is MarkT from the other forum, I invited him over here...

That is sweet I will be out in Vegas in May with my Raptor.

Make sure that you look us up, there are many runs in this area. PM me when you are nearing the time. We go out a couple of times a week during the winter and four to five times a week in summer...more daylight!!!

I use the Contour HD, the mount is rock solid. I have used it inside and outside the truck. Having said that, I would probably buy the GoPro unit now because they recently added a small screen as an accessory. My buddy has the Go Pro unit and the quality of vids is the same. His films at 135 degrees of view and mine is 115 degrees. The Contour mount is better than the one supplied with the Go Pro.
