In December, I bought the baddest Raptor I could afford. The previous owner had sunk some cash into it for sure. I do not know what upgrades and mods were done and where some items were purchased for warranty sake. I so happened to find an address in the gps listed as home. Should I contact this person with a letter and my email address to communicate about the truck? I would drive there but its an hour away.

I'm torn because it could be good or bad.

1. Oh yeah that truck was awesome and I traded it in to get a newer Raptor...

2. I had to sell the truck because my wife left me and I lost my job....

What say ye?

* edit I have scoured this site and have not seen pictures of this truck anywhere

Warranties rarely transfer especially on mods so paperwork won't matter even if they had it. I don't see what the purpose of making contact would be. Are you not able to see what was done?

You could always start a thread and post pictures to ask and I am sure people here will tell you what it is.

Thanks for the reply. I currently have moisture in my Rigid light bar. I was asked for a lot of information I don't have to proceed with the warranty claim. The response I received was they don't necessarily need all of it but some is helpful.

I am also not familiar with stock versus mod on Raptors as this is my first. Some things are obvious such as bumpers and lights, but beyond that I don't know. I have looked at things to see if they had an aftermarket name or sticker on them but can't find anything.

If someone contacted me about a previous modded vehicle I owned, I would be cool about it, but I know not everyone feels this way. That's where I'm at. I hate gray areas.

P.S. I lived in Sedalia for a long time

Does not hurt to ask a question about the truck. It will give you more insight how it was used pros and cons...Its not like you are asking him to **** his wife.

I agree with the above, except if his wife is hot and isnt being satisfied since he got rid of the raptor, ask her if she wants to go for a ride in the raptor for old times sake and then bang her in the back seat!

I don't think he would mind responding to you. I traded in a car and got a call from someone buying the old car from the dealer. They got my phone number from a service receipt. I was happy to provide addition information.

Plus the wife might be hot...

I've had a few owners of modified vehicles I sold contact me years later once the vehicle had passed hands a few times about mods. Mostly found me on forums as 2 cars were pretty well known on the net. I was always willing to help with whatever info I could pass on. It wouldn't hurt.

*****. You guys are cracking me up. So a quick letter asking for "him" to contact me via email. Should I include my return address? Should I say how I found the address?

Rigid changed their warranty policy and is only valid to the original purchaser and non-transferrable. They will want a copy of the receipt. Getting water in a Rigid light is common. Every single one of mine eventually got moisture.

Take pictures of what you think is modded (or even if it is not) and sincerely ask the question to the forum and people will help you out.

I see that you are in Florida. Go here on the forum to the Southeast section and post up in one of the Florida threads or create one. Get together with some other raptor owners and compare yours to a stock truck.

Other people here say its cool to try and make contact. I personally would not, especially if I made sure to remove anything of mine out of the truck before I sold it, some might take it as a privacy thing. I've always reset the NAV and everything like that back to default so perhaps this person might not care if they left it.
