LOL I like the post where people say "mine have so many miles but are holding strong ." Can you see the oil inside ? just because hey are not leaking doesn't mean they are "holding strong " iv seen a set of shocks at 28k miles with more street then offroad use and the oil was smoked ! . The longer you wait the more the oil does nothing to help protect the internal parts . The best thing to help protect your shocks in bad weather conditions is to keep them oiled during the harsh winter months . Ams oil metal protection has been known to work great . Doing multiple applications thru out the season is a big plus . And yes to be correct these shocks can corrode completely thru .

What are most guys doing for rebuilding? I have no interest in leaving my truck on jack stands for 2 weeks while my shocks are getting rebuilt.....

Good info Carl. My truck has horrible shaking back and forth in the steering wheel. It acts like the tires are way our of balance. Huck drove mine and then we looked at it. He spotted the fluid all over passenger front shock. Thanks to Christy(Fordservice here on FRF) that shock is getting replaced tomorrow. Hopefully that one shock was the issue and it takes care of the shaking. It is very annoying.

The description of a little extra steering wheel feedback is great. That is exactly how mine started acting before the shock gave up completely.

mine did the same thing at 15k, took to ford many times and showed up in many different raptors
and argued with the service manager it was screwed up. he said it was normal and i ended up buying a used set from here, sending those in to for for rebuild then installed them. no more problems and cost me 2 grand total under warenty because ford service local and san diego have no ideal. mine showed no oil leakage.

Reviving this.

My suspension is shot at 80k. 2012 SVT.

I don’t want to mess around. What’s THE best way to go to upgrade all of the shocks and leafs in the rear?

I’m gathering from reading that Fox 3.0’s all around plus Deaver + 2’s in the rear is it. Mid perch is what I’m running now stock. Best price and who to go with would be appreciated. I’m in Albuquerque

Yes, 3.0 and sever plus 2 is what the truck should have had from factory.

Going to thar setup will make the truck feel and drive better. Cheapest route is just rebuild shocks but you will never get the performance of a larger shock.

I can get you setup. If you are looking at Fox 3.0 all around with deavers, I would recommend the RPG Stage 4+ kit. It will include all that plus provide you a bump stop. Take a look at what makes this kit different than the rest; custom valving, pre-tuned and free rebuilds.

We are offering discount pricing on all RPG products. Send me a PM with your shipping address info and I will be glad to get you a quote.

Will the Deaver springs eliminate sagging when I load the bed?

Any hindrance of wheel travel?

How about going mid-perch with the front 3.0’s and the Deaver +3’s? Will that make the rear end too high?
