I've started to notice some mild groaning noises coming from somewhere in the lower rear of the truck when I take sharp turns at slow speed, like when parking.

It's hard to pinpoint, but I am guessing it might be suspension related. I'm approaching 40000 miles, so I am wondering what shock fatigue sounds like.

I'm due for an oil change so I will ask the dealer to check, but wanted to consult the Rapture gurus before I did that. Any thoughts?

More info. Got a second opinion. It's not coming from the rear, it's coming from the front. And it's more like a vibration than a groan. And it only happens when I am slowly turning left. I did circles in the parking lot at very slow speed, like I was parking. The sound is clear when I'm turning left. When I do circles turning right, I hear nothing.

I'm betting your tires might be starting to "cup". try moving the fronts to the rear and the rears to the front.

I have this problem as well. Are you on mid perch? I think it started for me, when I had mid perch done.

You sure you're not just rubbing your tire on the fender liner? Those push pins that hold the liner can pop out.

I checked the tires. They look fine, and I have plenty of clearance from the fender liners and mud guards. I had the wife turn the wheel while I inspected.

Your tires do look good! I wonder how your front brakes are? You know the other dreaded problem is the 4x4 if its engaged in one hub or not with a loss of vacuum?

I just noticed on that one pic looking down from the top, the brake line looks like its been rubbing?

And the bracket that attaches the line to the spindle has come loose.
